EFHOH - European Federation of Hard of Hearing People

The European Federation of Hard of Hearing People consists of National Associations of/for Hard of Hearing and Late-Deafened People, Parents' Organisations and Professional Organisations.

Creating a barrier-free Europe for all hard of hearing citizens

The European Federation of Hard of Hearing People exists to represent hard 

of hearing people at European level in dialogue with the European Union, the

Members of the European Parliament, and other European authorities.

Our aim is a Europe where hard of hearing people can live without barriers,

 and have the opportunity to participate on all levels in society.

 EFHOH will realize this vision through our actions, contacts and campaigns

involving the EFHOH members and our partners.

Since the UN Convention on the Rights of People with Disabilities (CRPD) is now ratified by all major European countries and the European Union, this convention serves as a foundation for all our work. The convention text, together with a Statement adopted by the Annual General Meeting of EFHOH in Oslo 2007, is found at Documents & Presentations.

Coming up 2012

In June next summer the Norwegian association will host the 9th World Congress of IFHOH, International Federation of Hard of Hearing People. The congress will take place in Bergen, the city with a splendid location on the Atlantic coast of Norway.                            REGISTRATION on-line has now opened at the Congress web: www.IFHOH2012.no

2nd International Conference on Hearing Loops in 2011 - in the USA                           In June 2011 there was the 2nd International Conference on Hearing loops, in Washington, USA. Media4all - conference in London 28 June - 1 July about audiovisual media. EFHOH will participate in this conference and present our report on Subtitling. More about the report on the Subtitling page. Reprot from the conference is expected in the September issue of our Newsletter
