Cochlear Implants: Increasing Awareness and Access
Cochlear implants have been around for 40 years and have greatly improved the lives of recipients. Yet, despite advances in the technology and its benefits, there is a lack of awareness about cochlear implants and too few adults with hearing loss, who could benefit from the devices, have access to cochlear implants. Please join us for a discussion about advocacy efforts and the role of consumers in the landmark International Consensus Paper, published in JAMA Otolaryngology on August 27, 2020. The publication outlines minimum standards of care for adults with severe to profound hearing loss.
